Yuan-Chung Lin  /Prof.

Inst. Environ. Eng., National Sun Yat-Sen University. Taiwan

  • Industrial Pollution Reduction
  • Solid Waste Reduction and Reuse
  • Green Energy (particularly biofuels production)
  • Environmental Hormones, etc.

Prof. Lin has a distinguished career in environmental science and ecology. He joined the Institute of Environmental Engineering, National Sun Yat-sen University, Taiwan in August 2008. Concerning the increasingly severe air pollution and climate change globally particularly in Asia, Prof. Lin continued researching of biofuels production and energy-saving technologies for pollutants or emission reduction, particularly focusing on pollutant emissions from vehicles. He has extensively used ionic liquids as catalysts with a microwave heating system for the improvement of biofuels production from biomass such as biodiesel and hydrogen, as well as used a novel plasma-enhanced combustion system for emissions reduction of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and greenhouse gases from engines.

In August 2018, Prof. Lin was promoted as a Distinguished Professor and Director of Institute of Environmental Engineering, National Sun Yat-Sen University. He was awarded the Academic Research Merit Teacher Award (2012-2017), Industry Research Merit Teacher Award (2016-2017) and Award for Excellence in Teaching (2017) by the National Sun Yat-Sen University. He still leads a group of more 15 research members.

As of 2023,  Prof. Lin has published a total of 135 papers in SCI journals and other peer review international journals. He has published over 145 international conferences papers and has applied for 2 patents. In the past 5 years, Prof. Lin has published 42 papers, including a total of 36 SCI-retrieved papers, 13 first works, and a high  h-index of 34.
